Ahead of the RSB Innovations Meeting 2025, let’s take a look at our updated agenda and speaker list, and highlight the interactive workshops that we have scheduled for Day 2 of the event – taking place in Seattle, USA, on 20–21 May.
Designed to foster collaboration, both the sessions on Day and the workshops on Day 2 will offer participants with the opportunity to move beyond traditional conference interactions and actively contribute to the development of practical, actionable solutions – with aviation serving as a lighthouse sector.
Here’s what to expect from each workshop on 22 May 2025:
.
WORKSHOP A
Innovations in Indirect Mitigation: Book & Claim, Accounting and Innovation
How do we unlock credible emissions reductions without direct fuel supply?
As demand grows for effective Scope 3 emissions reduction strategies, indirect mitigation tools like book and claim are playing an increasingly central role. This workshop will explore how companies can use book and claim mechanisms to credibly reduce emissions across value chains.
Sector specialists will join this workshops to support the discussion and provide practical insights on topics such as:
- An introduction to the book and claim model, including the value proposition for brands and the RSB Book & Claim System.
- A presentation and interactive session to explore current reporting challenges and existing guidance.
- A live demo of new transaction features and tools, with opportunities to provide feedback on future registry needs.
- A session on scaling book and claim in key sectors like maritime, chemicals, and steel, exploring future use cases of book and claim.

WORKSHOP B
Building Credible Impact Claims Together
How can we prove real-world positive impacts – beyond carbon?
Sustainability leadership demands more than carbon accounting alone — it requires credible, science-based claims that reflect broader social and environmental impacts. In this workshop, participants will explore cutting-edge methodologies for verifying impact claims across SAF supply chains.
During this highly interactive session, we will:
- Engage with draft methodologies for generating credible impact claims.
- Discuss practical challenges and opportunities for real-world market application.
- Contribute to shaping RSB’s evolving approach to verified, beyond-carbon sustainability claims.
- Review new soil carbon measurement indicators and field experiences.
- Develop social impact indicators for ‘Fair Labour’ and ’Community Benefits’.
- Shape how verified impact claims will be integrated into RSB’s Book & Claim system.

WORKSHOP C
Unlocking Certification for SAF: US Pathways, Bottlenecks & Solutions
For sustainability to work, certification is critical — so what’s standing in the way?
Certification is essential for building trust and unlocking markets for SAF, but navigating the system can be complex. This fast-paced workshop will bring US SAF producers, airlines, and experts together to map out the bottlenecks, and focus on the practical solutions to simplifying and scaling credible SAF certification under ICAO CORSIA and RSB standards.
Through lightning presentations, breakout groups, and rapid-fire collaboration, participants will:
- Identify key barriers and bottlenecks in the US SAF certification landscape.
- Co-develop regionally relevant solutions to accelerate certification pathways.
- Surface real-world insights from producers, airlines, and certification experts to inform RSB’s ongoing work.
