CellMark, known for its international pulp, paper, packaging, chemical, recycling and basic material business divisions, recently appointed Doug Smith president and CEO. He is based in Toronto.
Smith has more than 20 years’ experience in the pulp industry, both on the production and agency sides. After starting his career as a retail entrepreneur, he launched a manufacturing facility that reportedly introduced the world’s first engineered coated board.
He joined CellMark in 2009 and has led its founding division, CellMark Pulp, since 2014. Most recently, he joined the board of directors in 2019.
Retaining his responsibilities as president of the pulp division for a transitionary period, which began in October, Smith will continue to be based in Toronto, but will also work regularly at CellMark’s headquarters (HQ) in Gothenburg, Sweden.
