The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) has been named a recipient of the India SAF Award 2026, in the category SAF Policy Leadership Award – International.

The India SAF Awards are presented by the SAF Association (SAFA), a not-for-profit industry body focused on policy advocacy, collaboration, technology and market development for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in India. The awards recognise exceptional contribution, achievement and leadership in advancing SAF and the global transition toward net-zero aviation.

RSB was recognised for establishing rigorous sustainability and traceability frameworks for SAF. Through the RSB ICAO CORSIA certification framework, and RSB’s work on SAF accounting and book-and-claim, RSB strengthens sustainability assurance, emissions credibility and market confidence across the SAF value chain.

The recognition affirms a position RSB has set out consistently in its India market coverage: that rigorous certification functions as a long-term investment in organisational resilience, not a compliance cost absorbed once and filed away. For producers and buyers alike, an independently verified chain-of-custody and sustainability framework is what converts production capability into something financeable and tradeable, lowering investment risk at the point where international buyers, financiers and regulators apply scrutiny.

The award was presented on 29 September 2026, from 6:30 to 8:30pm, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, during the India SAF Conclave & Awards 2026, followed by a gala dinner. The ceremony formed part of the two-day conclave, held under the theme “Powering the SAF Transition Together”, which brought together government ministries, airlines, airports, SAF producers, technology companies and investors to advance India’s net-zero aviation pathway. This year’s edition drew more than 1,000 delegates, over 100 speakers and representation from more than 25 countries.

SAFA described the honour as recognition of a contribution of lasting significance to the development of sustainable aviation, adding that it looks forward to continuing the shared journey toward accelerating India’s SAF transition.

As India’s SAF sector moves from pilot activity toward large-scale deployment, the certification and book and claim infrastructure that underpins credible fuel claims becomes the mechanism that lets buyers, financiers and policymakers treat Indian SAF as CORSIA-ready rather than merely eligible. This recognition reflects RSB’s continued role supporting that transition, working with producers, airlines and policymakers in India and internationally.
