Green E
Green-e® is an independent certification program for renewable energy sold in the voluntary market. The Green-e® logo identifies products that meet the program’s high environmental and consumer protection standards.
However, I am unable to get an updated list stating what the program’s “high environmental and consumer protection standards” are! Each webpage for Green-E.org has a window opening up warning that the site certification is not valid.
Some information states that a Renewable Energy Credit (REC) represents the environmental benefits of 1 megawatt-hour (MWh) of renewable energy that can be paired with electricity. In other words, the power used to create the product has been off-set by an equivalent amount of renewable energy.
