The Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC), which is responsible for the conservation and sustainable use of tuna fisheries valued at more than $8 billion, should reaffirm its commitments to precautionary, science-based management—and compliance with its own rules—when it meets in La Réunion 13-17 April.
