DuPont announced that its Water Solutions team has been honored as a 2025 “Sustainability Squad” in the BIG Sustainability Awards. This recognition highlights their efforts to improve industrial wastewater treatment, reuse, and minimal liquid discharge (MLD).
The “Sustainability Squad” Award is presented by the Business Intelligence Group to celebrate innovative development and commercialization. DuPont’s team was recognized for their FilmTec
Fortilife membranes, which enable industrial clients to treat and reuse wastewater more efficiently. The membranes also reduce discharge volumes and recover valuable resources, all while lowering energy use and operational costs.

The membranes also recover resources and enhance water circularity, with industry-leading reliability and durability. They are establishing a new standard in industrial wastewater management with this technology.
DuPont has launched several new and upgraded FilmTec Fortilife membranes, including grades such as CR100, XC70, XC120HR, and XC160. These innovations push the limits of brine concentration and energy efficiency, supporting global efforts toward minimal liquid discharge schemes.
These advancements also enable emerging applications like direct lithium extraction and seawater brine crystallization. DuPont’s technologies currently help purify more than 50 million gallons of water every minute across 112 countries. Their broad portfolio addresses challenges faced by municipal water treatment plants, seawater desalination, and industrial users like the microelectronics industry.
