With the much-anticipated annual equipment trade show, Agritechnica, having recently concluded in Hanover, attendees are now settling back into their daily routines, going over their respective takeaways from the show.
Most major ag players use the show as a staging ground for new launches, including New Holland. Working with its longtime partner FPT, the brand showcased a number of new prototypes and products for various farm tasks.
Hybrid prototype telehandler

New Holland’s new hybrid prototype telehandler, which is powered by FPT’s F28 hybrid natural gas engine in high voltage configuration. The compact engine combines a high-efficiency 2.8-liter, four-cylinder natural gas engine with an on-axis integrated e-drive. It offers a modular layout for plug-and-play replacement of larger diesel engines. It delivers up to 75 kW of electric power, supporting improved load response, reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions. The telehandler itself combines electric drive and compressed natural gas propulsion for the handling of agricultural materials. Designed for typical farming application with a lift capacity comparable to traditional diesel-powered telehandlers, it’s purported to achieve up to 70 percent energy savings and 30 percent improved performance compared to its diesel counterparts.
T7 standard wheelbase tractor

New Holland is expanding its current tractor portfolio through the introduction of its new T7 Standard Wheelbase tractor series, which covers the 180 to 225hp segment. It features a redesigned compact front axel for improved maneuverability and a smoother ride. Specifically, the T7.225 Dynamic Command model recently set a new benchmark for fuel consumption at the DLG PowerMix test center. It maintains a 2,789mm wheelbase, but offers increased gross vehicle weight and payload capacity.
The new tractor incorporates FPT’s N67 engine, which is its signature solution.
T7 XD tractor
New Holland is officially entering a new tractor segment with the launch of its T7 XD series, which is a completely redesigned range delivering between 360 and 435 hp. Developed with large-scale farmers and contractors in mind, the new model combines higher power with compact design, for a significant power-to-weight ratio.
The new range includes the 360 hp T7.360 XD, 390 hp T7.390 XD, and 435 hp T7.440 XD.
For FTP’s part, the new range is powered by its 8.7-liter FPT Cursor 9 engine, which is designed to reduce vibration and maximize maneuverability with a narrow tractor profile. The 680-liter fuel tank is 13 percent larger than previous T7 HD models, and boasts a 750-hour service interval.
