Ottawa, Canada — September 29, 2025 — ArcTern Ventures today congratulated portfolio company Hyperlume, a pioneer in microLED interconnects for data centres, on its acquisition by Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd. (NASDAQ: CRDO). The transaction marks a significant milestone for Hyperlume’s founders, team, and investors, and highlights the growing demand for solutions that enhance the efficiency and sustainability of digital infrastructure.
Founded in Ottawa, Hyperlume has developed a breakthrough microLED interconnect technology that delivers lightning-fast data transfer speeds while dramatically reducing energy consumption. This innovation enables hyperscale and enterprise data centres to meet the demands of artificial intelligence (AI) workloads without compromising on sustainability.
ArcTern Ventures co-led Hyperlume’s Series A financing in late 2024 as part of its investment thesis to back technologies that lower the carbon footprint of AI and high-performance computing. “Hyperlume is a strong example of how Canadian ‘deeptech’ innovation can address the growing carbon footprint of AI infrastructure,” said Murray McCaig, ArcTern co-founder and managing partner. “We are proud to have supported Mohsen Asad, Hossein Fariborzi, and their team in scaling a technology that makes data centres faster, more efficient, and more sustainable.”
