Greentown Labs’ 200+ startups are reinventing how our world operates—from how we power our homes, to how we manufacture our goods, to how we shape the built environment. Every one of their successes moves us a step closer to a decarbonized, resilient future.
That’s why each year, we celebrate some of our members’ most impressive accomplishments as they develop, deploy, and commercialize their climatetech solutions.
Here’s just a sampling of their biggest wins this year!
Redesigning How We Make Everything
- Laminar (formerly H2Ok Innovations) is scaling its water-saving, advanced sensors to AB InBev’s global breweries across six geographical zones and raised a $12.4M Series A.
- Cemvita established a subsidiary in Brazil; signed an agreement with the government of Rio Grande do Sul to deploy its bio-stimulation technologies at an industrial plant in Brazil that will produce carbon-negative industrial chemical byproducts; and finalized an agreement with Invest RS to build a facility in Brazil for the production of its sustainable FermOil
, which is a feedstock for sustainable air fuel.

- Phoenix Tailings, which raised a $43.8M Series B this year, opened a cutting-edge U.S. rare earth metallization facility to boost production of its zero-reliance rare-earth metals.
- Phlair—a Carbon to Value Initiative participant focused on renewables-powered direct air capture—secured a $30.6M offtake agreement with Frontier to remove 47,000 tonnes of CO2 by 2030.
Changing How We Power Our World
- American Battery Technology Company was selected to recycle batteries in a ~$30M project, one of the United States’ largest lithium-ion battery cleanups in history. It also doubled its quarterly production of recycled battery materials at its commercial-scale lithium-ion battery recycling facility and was named the “Recycling Technology Solution of the Year” by CleanTech Breakthrough.
- ATS Energy announced the world’s first commercial agreement for deployment of a megawatt-scale solid-state generator.
- Nth Cycle became the “first U.S. company to produce premium battery materials from scrap metal.”
- Raptor Maps was selected by Greentown partner Sabanci Renewables to deploy its solar asset maintenance drones and software across Sabanci’s solar operations.
- florrent closed $9.5M in Seed-2 funding to expand its next-generation ultracapacitors that provide firm, renewable power at every level of the grid.

Reinventing Buildings, Old and New
- Dandelion Energy is integrating its geothermal systems into over 1,500 homes built by Lennar Corporation in Colorado, in one of the United States’s largest residential geothermal deployments.
- Reframe Systems raised a $20M Series A to continue building sustainable homes quickly and more predictably using robotics, algorithms, and local microfactories. The startup also built a triple-decker home structure in Somerville, MA in just four days using its system.
- Transaera announced the first deployment of its dedicated outdoor air system in a high-demand kitchen, installing its ultra-efficient HVAC system on a Miami kitchen rooftop.
Shifting How We Produce and Dispose of Food
- Agrilab Technologies installed compost-aeration and heat-recovery systems in Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, Ontario, and Quebec.
- Phytoform is partnering with Corteva Agriscience to apply its CRE.AI.TIVE
AI technology to improve corn’s disease resistance.

Reimagining Transportation
- it’s electric cut the ribbon on its first curbside deployment, part of a partnership with the City of Boston to rapidly deploy EV chargers—then followed up with deployments in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Alameda, CO.
- Flux Marine partnered with Highfield Boats to integrate its electric boat propulsion system into Highfield Boats’ rigging and assembly center.
- Haffner Energy signed a long-term sustainable aviation fuel offtake deal with Luxaviation, plus a joint-venturing and 5 MW industrial pilot project with a Canadian partner. It was also selected for the first Renewable Energy Valley project, where it will partner on a bio-hydrogen plant that will produce 240 tonnes of mobility-grade hydrogen per year.
- WhaleSpotter partnered with leading container shipping company Matson to deploy its marine-mammal detection system across Matson’s vessel operations.

Creating Resilient Communities
- Overstory raised a $43M Series B to scale its AI-driven wildfire-prevention and grid-resilience technology.
- rStream deployed its autonomous waste-sorting trailer at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
- Capwell launched its commercial unit to capture and destroy methane leaked by low-flow and intermittent vent sources across oil and gas production facilities.
