Carbon accounting startup Zevero announced that it has acquired sustainability solutions provider Inhabit, with the transaction aimed at expanding its advisory capabilities and supporting its strategy to scale sustainability delivery.

Founded in 2019, UK-based Inhabit provides tools and services to help enable decarbonization and net-zero strategies, ranging from carbon measurement, reporting, and practical decarbonization planning services.

Zevero, also based in the UK, was founded in 2021, and provides companies with tools to understand the impact of their emissions, helping them identify where and how to reduce that impact and comply with relevant regulations. In 2024, the company was acquired by Singapore-based climate tech startup LEVELUP, with the companies merging under the Zevero brand.

Under the agreement, Zevero will provide support for portfolios previously served by Inhabit, with phased onboarding to ensure continuity of service. As part of the transaction, Inhabit customers will gain also access to Zevero’s AI-powered carbon accounting platform, including enhanced automation, reporting, and data visualization.

Sam McKay, co-founder and CEO of Inhabit, said:

“Our customers will now benefit from the advanced capabilities of Zevero’s platform while maintaining the continuity and familiarity of the Inhabit team.”

George Wade, Chief Commercial Officer at Zevero, added:

“Over the past few months, it has become clear that Sam and the Inhabit team share our commitment to helping organisations decarbonise through high-quality, practical delivery. We look forward to welcoming Inhabit’s team and customers to Zevero and continuing to deliver strong results together.”
