The World’s Largest Event for the Renewable Carbon Economy: Bio-based, CO₂-based and Recycling
This year’s Renewable Materials Conference (RMC) in Siegburg/Cologne (Germany) from 22–24 September 2026, is all about defossilisation through innovation.
Defossilisation – the substitution of fossil carbon in chemicals & materials with bio-, CO₂- and recycling-based renewables – offers strategies to secure market access and guide investors and financial institutions towards portfolios with long-term profitability. RMC provides a platform to explore these opportunities, address uncertainties and help companies build a future-proof, competitive position in the renewable economy.
RMC is the international meeting place for innovators, companies, brands, investors and policymakers. As in previous years, organiser nova-Institute expects 400–500 participants from around the world.
Across 5 main sessions, topics range from defossilisation of the chemical industry to fine chemicals, fossil-free plastics, policy frameworks and biodegradation. The prestigious innovation award “Renewable Material of the Year” will again be presented in 2026. The conference will feature around 85 presentations, 12 expert workshops, a two-floor tabletop exhibition, poster sessions and extensive networking opportunities.
