Jet Zero Australia has announced the successful completion of a feasibility study for its exciting new project, called Mandala. This milestone marks another step forward in the company’s efforts to develop a leading biofuel facility in Australia.

Located in Gladstone, Project Mandala is planned to be a large biorefinery producing up to 400 million liters of sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel each year. The facility will focus on converting renewable feedstocks into clean fuels that help reduce carbon emissions in transportation and industry.

This project is part of Australia’s growing focus on green energy and sustainable manufacturing. It aims to strengthen the country’s bioeconomy by creating long-term jobs and boosting local industry. The biorefinery’s design allows it to produce either mainly aviation fuel or a mix of fuels tailored to different sectors, including mining, marine, and heavy transport.

Supporting the feasibility study were funding partners from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, as well as Enterprise Singapore, a government agency promoting enterprise growth. The study, led by global technology leader Topsoe and engineering firm Long Energy & Resources, confirmed that the project has strong technical and commercial potential.

The site’s proximity to Queensland’s largest port, along with long-term agreements for sustainable feedstocks, makes the project well-placed for success. The fuels produced will meet international standards for low-carbon biofuels, helping Australia contribute to global efforts to cut emissions.

With this milestone achieved, Jet Zero Australia is moving closer to turning its vision of a greener, more sustainable future into reality through innovative biofuel production.
