Cascades has invested $6.9 million in Papier Kingsey Falls, its uncoated recycled boxboard manufacturing plant in Kingsey Falls, Que., to increase production capacity and product quality.
The company has installed new equipment since last September to improve the plant’s sheet quality control, so as to better meet the food packaging industry’s needs, including surface finish and printing requirements.
“This project will enable us to increase our capacity and remain a valued partner for our customers,” says Hugues Simon, Cascades’ president and CEO. “It underscores our commitment to investing in our assets in Quebec. I’d like to thank the employees who helped install this equipment. Their expertise and dedication have made this project a resounding success.”
Commissioned in 1972, the plant currently serves the industrial and food packaging markets, manufacturing uncoated paperboard from 100% recycled fibres for roll headers, cores, partitions and protective packaging. With 68 employees, it is one of its region’s top employers.
