Yesterday, Emmanuelle Migneault (pictured) assumed the role of chief human resources (HR) officer for packaging and tissue producer Cascades, headquartered in Kingsey Falls, Que.

Previously the company’s vice-president (VP) of excellence, Migneault succeeds Maryse Fernet, who will be retiring next month after more than 38 years with Cascades, including 18 leading its HR department.

Migneault, a graduate of Université Laval’s business administration program with a specialization in HR and organizational information systems, has been with Cascades since 2001, when she began her career as director of HR for the succession program. Since then, she has served as VP of HR in two of the company’s business sectors and at the corporate level. She completed training in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement before becoming VP of excellence in 2024.

“We are pleased to promote Emmanuelle to new responsibilities,” says Hugues Simon, president and CEO. “I am confident she is the right person to take on this challenge. I also thank Maryse for her remarkable service and wish her a happy retirement. She was the architect behind the implementation and modernization of our HR processes.”
