The Kia EV3 range is expanding in Australia with a new dual-motor all-wheel-drive flagship that brings more performance and grip, but will not be followed by a full-blown EV3 GT.
Confirmed to arrive in Australian dealerships from September, the new 2027 Kia EV3 GT-Line AWD will be priced from $66,490 before on-road costs.
The new flagship adds a second electric motor, all-wheel drive, larger brakes and suspension and steering specifically tuned for Australian conditions.

The EV3 GT-Line AWD combines its dual electric motors to produce 195kW and 385Nm, compared with 150kW and 283Nm for the existing single-motor EV3.

The extra performance cuts the claimed 0-100km/h acceleration time to 6.6 seconds, down from 7.7 seconds for the front-wheel-drive Long Range model.
Power comes from the same 81.4kWh battery used by existing Long Range versions of the EV3.
The additional motor and all-wheel-drive system reduce the claimed WLTP range to 559km, compared with 604km for the front-wheel-drive EV3 Long Range Air and 563km for the existing GT-Line.
That means the new AWD flagship sacrifices just 4km of claimed range compared with the current GT-Line while gaining an additional 45kW and 102Nm.
Kia Australia says the EV3 GT-Line AWD has also been fitted with larger brakes and receives bespoke suspension and steering tuning developed for Australian conditions.
The new variant completes the Australian EV3 range following the small electric SUV’s local launch in 2025.

Its arrival follows the EV3 recording its strongest Australian sales month so far in June 2026, when Kia delivered 821 examples.
The new GT-Line AWD will be the flagship of the l;ine-up, as the EV3 GT performance model will not come to Australia.
Kia Australia says the GT badge will be reserved for its larger EV6 and EV9 halo vehicles, while the EV3 GT-Line AWD completes the local EV3 range.
The company also wants to avoid adding further complexity to the small electric SUV line-up.
That represents a shift from Kia Australia’s earlier position, when it had identified the EV3 as a potential candidate for an expansion of its high-performance electric GT range.
For now, the EV6 GT and EV9 GT will remain Kia’s only dedicated electric GT models in Australia.
The EV3 GT-Line AWD instead provides a performance step above the front-wheel-drive range without the more extensive powertrain and chassis changes normally associated with Kia’s GT badge.
Standard equipment carried over from the GT-Line includes 19-inch alloy wheels, a head-up display, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a Harman Kardon premium sound system, vehicle-to-load capability and dual 12.3-inch displays separated by a 5.0-inch climate-control screen.

Other equipment includes a powered driver’s seat, powered tailgate, wireless phone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Kia Connect with over-the-air software updates.
Standard safety equipment includes autonomous emergency braking, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, lane-keep and lane-following assistance, Highway Driving Assist 2, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance and a driver-monitoring system.
Seven airbags are fitted, including a front-centre airbag.
