Australia-bound Jetour has revealed more details of its new Traveller 7, including a potent plug-in hybrid powertrain pumping out 575kW and 835Nm and offering up to 245km of claimed electric range.
Reservations for the new five-seat adventure SUV opened at the Chengdu motor show, where the Chery-owned brand revealed both petrol and PHEV versions.
The Traveller 7 is a larger addition to Jetour’s increasingly extensive family of squared-off adventure SUVs and follows the same basic design philosophy as the Traveller – known as the T2 in some export markets.

That makes it particularly relevant to Australia, where Jetour is now actively establishing its local operation ahead of a planned launch in the first quarter of 2027.
The Traveller 7 has not been confirmed for Australia, but the T1 and T2 plug-in hybrids are already scheduled to lead the local rollout and the larger G700 off-roader will follow around six months later.
The headline version of the Traveller 7 is the C-DM PHEV, which combines a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with three electric motors and all-wheel drive. Combined output is a hefty 575kW and 835Nm.
A large CATL battery provides up to 245km of electric-only driving under China’s CLTC testing regime, while Jetour claims a combined petrol-electric range of up to 1400km.

Those numbers make the Traveller 7 considerably more serious than the current Traveller C-DM, which offers up to 212km of claimed CLTC electric range from a 43.24kWh battery in its latest Chinese specification.
The Traveller 7 measures 4827mm long – stretching to 4848mm depending on specification – 2006mm wide and 1875mm high, with a 2800mm wheelbase.
Despite the 7 in its name, it remains a five-seater rather than adding a third row. Its larger body instead provides a roomier take on the Traveller formula, while the basic off-road recipe remains familiar: an upright body, high ground clearance, external spare wheel and side-hinged rear door.
The Traveller 7 C-DM also gets Jetour’s XWD intelligent all-wheel-drive system, selectable off-road driving modes and an automatic X mode that can adjust the drivetrain to suit the terrain.
Jetour quotes a 27-degree approach angle, 30-degree departure angle, 220mm minimum ground clearance and 700mm wading depth.
A petrol Traveller 7 is also available, using a 187kW/390Nm 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder engine, eight-speed automatic transmission and XWD all-wheel drive.
Technology takes another step up in the PHEV, which is offered with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 driver-assistance system, while the petrol model uses Jetour’s Falcon 500 system.
The cabin combines large digital displays with physical switches and can be equipped with 10-way electrically adjustable front seats, eight-point pneumatic massage, a reclining front passenger seat and 23-speaker audio.

The rear seats can also be arranged to help create a sleeping area around two metres long, underlining Jetour’s focus on camping and recreational use.
Full Chinese pricing has yet to be announced, with Jetour instead opening reservations at Chengdu with a 777-yuan deposit.
Jetour’s Australian operation is meanwhile taking shape, with local executives in place, dealer appointments underway and recruitment continuing ahead of the 2027 launch.
Jetour Australia’s own social media channels are now active, although the company is careful to state that specifications, features, availability and launch timing of overseas models remain subject to local confirmation.
There’s no confirmation yet that the Traveller 7 will be among them.
