Fox ESS has unveiled Power Beast, its new commercial and industrial energy storage system, at the company’s first large-scale APAC product launch. Held in Wenzhou, China, on 21 September 2026, the Fox ESS New Product Launch Event welcomed more than 200 customers from around the world.
The open-air event marked a significant step in Fox ESS’s expansion into advanced commercial and industrial (C&I) battery energy storage.
Power Beast combines the 125 kW H3 Plus hybrid inverter with Fox ESS’s high-voltage CQ series batteries. The CQ20 is described as the industry’s first modular C&I energy storage system with a fully integrated hybrid inverter. This integrated design allows businesses and installers to deploy a flexible, all-in-one commercial energy storage solution.

Fox ESS puts Power Beast installation to the test
The Power Beast launch went beyond a traditional product presentation.
Lyren Liu, CCO of Fox ESS, shared insights into market growth and his perspective on battery storage. He then revealed a Cybertruck loaded with CQ batteries from behind a black curtain on stage. An installation team was invited to assemble a complete system live, with a timer displayed on the main screen.
The team assembled battery packs comprising:
- eight modules of CQ20;
- 12 modules of CQ7; and
- 12 modules of CQ6.
Together, the system provided 316 kWh of energy storage capacity. The completed battery system was then connected to charging piles, a diesel generator, and a motor.
Fox ESS completed the entire live demonstration in under 30 minutes.
Power Beast offers scalable C&I battery storage
Power Beast has been designed around modular expansion, allowing system capacity to grow alongside a business’s energy requirements. With one H3 Plus hybrid inverter, Power Beast can support capacities ranging from 28 kWh to nearly 1,000 kWh.
The system supports several installation environments, including rooftop, outdoor, and indoor applications.
For larger projects, multiple Power Beast systems can operate in parallel.
In grid-connected mode, the system supports up to 100 units in parallel, providing total capacity of up to 96 MWh. In off-grid mode, Power Beast supports up to 30 units in parallel, reaching a total capacity of 28.8 MWh.
Modular design simplifies commercial battery installation
Fox ESS has also focused on reducing installation complexity. Power Beast’s modular architecture is designed to improve deployment efficiency and accommodate challenging or irregular installation environments.
According to Fox ESS, the system’s design can reduce total installation time by 90 per cent.
This modular approach gives installers greater flexibility when configuring commercial energy storage systems across different sites.
Lighter C&I battery storage with integrated energy management
Power Beast has been designed to integrate with multiple energy sources and loads.
The CQ20 series batteries achieve a unit energy weight of 7 kg per kWh. This helps reduce the system’s physical footprint while maintaining energy output.
Fox ESS has also incorporated a five-layer, end-to-end safety approach.
This covers:
- cell-level protection;
- electrical design;
- structural design;
- active detection; and
- emergency response.
The system connects with FoxCloud 2.0, Fox ESS’s proprietary smart energy management platform. FoxCloud 2.0 provides real-time monitoring and visibility of energy flows, alongside detailed performance analysis.
The platform also supports scheduling across up to 96 time slots, providing centralised smart energy management for Power Beast installations.
Fox ESS introduces AI energy management agent Maimai
Alongside Power Beast, Fox ESS introduced its AI agent, Maimai.
Maimai provides product, installation, and usage information through natural dialogue. Using large-model conversational capabilities, the AI agent can interpret user requirements and provide relevant information at any time.
Maimai can also generate optimised energy strategies using historical energy consumption patterns and real-time dynamic electricity prices. The technology adds another layer of intelligent energy management to Fox ESS’s growing commercial energy storage ecosystem.
Michael Zhu said Fox ESS remains focused on creating products that deliver measurable value for customers.
