Date:

Researchers developed a light-responsive spiropyran and multi-walled carbon nanotube hybrid that accelerated Bisphenol A degradation under simulated solar irradiation and generated reactive oxygen species linked to pollutant breakdown. The catalyst also reduced cytotoxicity in MCF-7 cell tests and retained its crystalline structure across four reuse cycles, though its degradation efficiency declined gradually.
