ACCIONA Energía plans to develop two battery energy storage systems in Spain, enhancing renewable energy integration and grid stability. The 20 MW project in Cuenca and 13 MW project in Palencia will be operational by 2027, enabling the storage and release of excess renewable energy, thereby supporting Spain’s energy security and reducing fossil fuel reliance.
