Team update! Celebrating Wynston Reed’s promotion to Investment Principal.
Since joining Clean Energy Ventures as an Investor in 2023, Wynston has become a deeply trusted partner to our portfolio companies, known for his hands-on support, analytical rigor, and practical problem-solving. He works closely with founders across fundraising, financial strategy, and growth planning, bringing clarity to complex decisions and helping teams translate ambitious visions into executable plans.
Within CEV, Wynston is recognized for his strong financial and analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to ask tough questions that sharpen our investment process. He brings a thoughtful point of view, collaborates generously across the team, and consistently pushes our work to a higher standard. Beyond these strengths, his optimism, humility, and sense of humor make him a valued teammate and a trusted partner for founders and co-investors alike. He consistently makes the CEV team stronger through how he shows up and works with others.
Wynston brings prior experience across management consulting, climate investing, and operating roles, with deep expertise in product financialization and federal energy policy. He holds a Master’s in Finance from MIT Sloan, where he was a Dean’s Fellow, and dual undergraduate degrees in Finance and International Business from the University of Maryland.
We are incredibly fortunate to have Wynston on the team, and excited to see him step into this expanded leadership role as Principal. His impact on our firm and portfolio continues to grow, and this promotion is a reflection of the value he brings every day.
