Continental has announced the Conti Eco HT 5 trailer tire, which completes the company’s fifth-generation Conti Eco portfolio for freight transportation. It joins the Conti Eco HS 5 steer tire and Conti Eco HD 5 drive tire as part of a coordinated tire range designed to reduce rolling resistance, operating costs and fuel consumption.
Developed for regional and long-distance transportation, the Conti Eco HT 5 extends the Conti Eco Generation 5 range to the trailer axle. Although trailer tires are not driven, they contribute to the rolling resistance of a truck and trailer combination. Reducing rolling resistance at the trailer axle can therefore help lower fuel consumption and vehicle-related CO2 emissions during operation.
