India and the wider Asia-Pacific are entering a period of sustained energy growth and transition, as booming economies push energy demand to new heights. According to the IEA’s World Energy Outlook 2025, India’s energy mix is steadily shifting towards renewables, with solar PV and wind projected to grow from around 2% of the mix today to nearly 20% by 2050 under current policies, while energy demand is rising fastest in industry and transport.

More broadly, across the Asia-Pacific, total final energy demand is expected to increase from around 450 exajoules in 2024 to over 500 exajoules by 2035, driven by industrialisation and rising living standards, reinforcing the urgent need for cleaner, more efficient energy systems.

Against this backdrop, Elcogen has appointed a new Business Development Director for India and APAC, marking our strategic expansion into one of the world’s fastest-growing energy markets. India’s ambitious targets for non-fossil power generation, nuclear capacity expansion, increased ethanol blending and the planned introduction of a carbon market are creating strong momentum for zero-carbon technologies such as ours.

For Elcogen, specialising in high-efficiency solid oxide fuel cell technology for clean electricity generation and green hydrogen production, the region presents a significant opportunity as governments and industries seek scalable solutions to reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency and cut reliance on imported fossil fuels.

Introducing Anil Srikar Pavuluri

We are pleased to introduce Anil Srikar Pavuluri, who will lead Elcogen’s expansion across India and the wider APAC region, identifying opportunities and building strategic, mutually beneficial partnerships that support the region’s growing demand for clean energy solutions.

“Hard-to-abate sectors are energy-intensive and heat-rich, creating ideal conditions for SOEC integration to reduce the cost of hydrogen production. Simultaneously, the rapid growth of data centres and remote microgrids, where hydrogen supply can be paired with on-site power generation, makes SOFCs a strong hydrogen utilisation pathway,” says Anil, adding,

“With more than two decades of experience in solid oxide technology, high-performance solid oxide cells, stacks, and modules, and an operational manufacturing capacity of up to 360 MW, I am confident that Elcogen is strategically positioned to enable high-efficiency hydrogen production, clean power generation, and system flexibility – all key pillars of the global energy transition”.

Anil holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, as well as a postgraduate diploma in Marketing Management. Based in New Delhi, he will travel extensively across the region, connecting with partners to ensure the best fit for Elcogen and its collaborators.

If you have any questions or would like to connect with Anil, please reach out here.

About Elcogen

Elcogen develops and supplies a proprietary Solid Oxide technology platform that operates in both fuel cell (SOFC) and electrolysis (SOEC) modes, enabling affordable green hydrogen production and zero-emission power generation to drive the clean energy transition. Founded in 2001, the company has its registered office in the UK, its main headquarters in Tallinn, Estonia, and R&D centres of excellence in both Estonia and Finland. Serving a growing global customer base, Elcogen’s cells, stacks, and modules are integrated into third-party systems across sectors where decarbonisation is essential, including steel, fuels, shipping and energy infrastructure. Application-agnostic by design, Elcogen’s technology delivers exceptional efficiency, flexibility and reliability, unlocking the full potential of renewable energy. Together with its partners, Elcogen is enabling a wider ecosystem of developers to advance the global shift to net zero, bridging today’s energy landscape with a sustainable future.
