IONNA is an EV charging network operated by a joint venture of BMW, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis and Toyota.
The venture has more than doubled the size of its network since the beginning of 2026, and now has more than 180 live charging sites in the US. In the JD Power 2026 U.S. Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) Public Charging Study, IONNA earned the top ranking among DC fast charging providers.
Could part of the reason for the strong customer satisfaction have to do with IONNA’s decision to forego a proprietary app? The proliferation of charging apps is certainly a major complaint among EV road-trippers.
IONNA is integrated with 19 partner apps, including Presto, ChargeHub and EV Connect. Better yet, IONNA supports Plug & Charge for Volvo drivers, and expects to add support for Toyota and Lexus drivers soon.
“The industry has treated charging scale and charging quality as a tradeoff. Our growth and first-place customer satisfaction ranking show that drivers can and should expect both,” said Seth Cutler, CEO of IONNA.
To further incorporate driver feedback, IONNA has founded a Driver Advisory Council of EV experts. Co-captains Kyle Conner (Out of Spec) and Tom Moloughney (State of Charge) are EV journalists who are known to regular Charged readers. The council will provide input on network performance, customer priorities and future product development.
