Bio Spandex, its sugarcane-based bio-fiber.
The company presented its fully integrated bio-spandex platform, built in Vietnam, at events in Copenhagen, Brussels and New York. It also shared recent results from bringing the technology to market.
The global textile industry still relies heavily on fossil fuels, even as EU climate rules tighten. Against that backdrop, Hyosung TNC is positioning itself in the premium market. It offers a scalable system aimed at cutting carbon across the wider supply chain, moving beyond the role of material supplier.
In May, Hyosung TNC took part in the Global Fashion Summit 2026 in Copenhagen. The event is one of the sustainable fashion industry’s largest. Under the theme Building Resilient Futures, the company showcased its Vietnam production system. That system converts raw sugar, certified under the VIVE Sustainable Supply Programme, into Bio-BDO and Bio-PTMG. The process ends in Bio-Spandex, all within one integrated line.
Hyosung TNC also premiered a video called Fashion Redressed II through Global Fashion Agenda. Produced by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions, it traced the path from sugarcane fields to finished sustainable fibers.
In June, the company attended the Future Fabrics Expo in Brussels, a key stop for EU climate policy. In July, it deepened ties with apparel brands at the Functional Fabric Fair in New York, spanning activewear, sportswear, denim, innerwear and swimwear. There, it introduced a capsule collection combining Lenzing’s TENCEL fiber with regen Bio Spandex, alongside its CREORA® fiber lineup.
Hyosung TNC said it remains focused on maintaining a strong technological edge and a robust global value chain. It aims to build a circular economy, starting with premium markets in Europe and North America.
