Scottish brewer, Innis & Gunn, releases personalized beer cans to mark its 20th year in Canada.

In partnership with Canadian artist Jacqueline Poirier, also known as the Crazy Plate Lady, Innin & Gunn honours seven individuals who have shaped Toronto’s culinary landscape with a unique artwork set on a hard-canvas image of a personalized Innis & Gunn beer can. Poirier, resident artist at the Ritz-Carlton Toronto, is known for her hand-painted porcelain charger plates and personality-driven portraits.

The honourees are:

  • Nick Di Donato, the visionary behind landmark venues that have shaped Toronto’s entertainment and dining scene, from the Phoenix to Michelin-starred Don Alfonso 1890;
  • Charles Khabouth of INK Entertainment Group;
  • Franco Stalteri & Donato Carozza, co-founders of Charlie’s Burgers and CB Wine Program;
  • Afrim Pristine, Canada’s only maître fromager and the driving force behind Cheese Boutique;
  • Michael Hunter, the chef behind Antler; and
  • Craig Wong, a culinary storyteller blending his Jamaican-Chinese heritage with French techniques at Patois, JunePlum, and AYLA.

“Originality has always been our compass, and our relationship with Canada and its food culture was built on that very foundation,” said Nic Rennie, country manager for Canada and the U.S. “Celebrating The Originals is our tribute to those who do not just follow trends but set them, who turn food, drink, and experiences into memories, and who inspire others through their craft. Over the past two decades, we have come to know and love Canada — its people, its culture, its generosity, and its thriving, diverse food scene. These individuals are not just part of that story — they have helped pioneer it.”
