The North American Manure Expo hits Wauseon, OH in less than one month!

With two jam-packed days of on- and off-site demos, tours and education sessions, the Manure Expo will showcase the latest and most relevant in manure research – especially all that’s been accomplished on Northwest Ohio and the surrounding area.

Today, we’re rounding out our speaker focus to show you who will be sharing their knowledge of agronomy, safety, water quality and the latest manure and nutrient management research coming from the area, on day two of the Expo. Continuing education credits are available.

Manure Expo Speakers (Part 2)

Andrew Klopfenstein

Andrew holds a Masters in agricultural engineering from The Ohio State University. He hails from a family farm in in Paulding County, OH that grows corn and soybeans, and custom harvests forage crops. His research covers compaction, autonomy, water application, nutrient application, yield sensing and harvest logistics, unmanned aerial systems, autonomous vehicles and big data.

Andrew’s session, High clearance robotic irrigation impacts on soybean and corn yield and nutrient application, will be held at 9:00 a.m. in Tent 1.

Eric Dresbach

Eric is the co-owner of W.D. Farms LLC with two of his three kids. He started W.D. Farms in 1985 as a trucking company, and in 1987 started hauling manure. Today, W.D. Farms specializes in liquid nutrient management working all over Ohio and parts of Indiana.

Eric’s session, Manure safety: Concerns you need to think about, will be held at 8:00 a.m. in Tent 3.

Frances Springer

Frances grew up on a cattle, crop and farrow to finish swine farm in Auglaize County, OH. She attended Ohio Dominican University and has worked for the Auglaize County and the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s soil and water divisions for more than 24 years. Frances worked extensively with farmers in the Grand Lake St. Marys distressed watershed to address pollution, manure storage and nutrient management plans. Frances has always specialized in pollution complaint investigations and has investigated more than 1,000 pollution complaints in Ohio. Frances currently works with farmers and investigates complaints statewide.

Frances’ session, Utilizing manure and best management practices, will be held at 9:30 a.m. in Tent 2.

Glen Arnold

Glen Arnold is a professor and field specialist for The Ohio State University. His research has been on applying liquid manure to crops to better capture nitrogen and save money on purchased fertilizer. He has spoken at countless Manure Expos, and he is currently the 2025 Expo Chair.

Glen’s session, Capturing liquid manure nutrients through application to growing crops, will be held at 8:00 a.m. in Tent 24

Jordan Couch

Jordan is senior manager of biogas operations and maintenance at IGS Energy, where he oversees the operations of anaerobic dairy digesters and a biogas decanting facility. His expertise lies in managing compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling facilities for light-and heavy-duty vehicles, providing clean fuel alternatives to diesel. Jordan has worked closely with organizations such as the City of Columbus Transit Authority, Rumpke Waste Services and Montgomery County to support their transition to clean energy.

Jordan’s session, Dairy and renewable natural gas, will be held at 8:00 a.m. in Tent 1.

Paige Kelly

Paige Kelly is the sustainability and environment manager for the Ohio Poultry Association. She is from Richland County, OH, and holds a BSc and MSc. from The Ohio State University, with a background in animal sciences and mortality composting. She is also a USDA composting subject matter expert.

Samuel’s session, HPAI mortality composting, will be held at 8:30 a.m. in Tent 1.

Stephanie Kulesza

Stephanie Kulesza is the Extension Specialist in Nutrient Management and Animal Waste at NC State University. Her research focuses on practical strategies to improve manure use and address challenges related to manure management in crop production.

Stephanie’s session, Topdressing poultry litter on growing corn, will be held at 8:30 a.m. in Tent 4.
