Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) has announced that it will change the names of seven subsidiaries in Europe, North America, Australia and the Pacific region, including Falken Tyres. The decision was approved during an SRI board of directors meeting on November 27, 2025. After registration in the commercial register, Falken is expected to adopt its new name, Dunlop Tyre Europe, in January 2026.
In January 2025, SRI acquired the trademark rights to Dunlop for passenger car tires in Europe, North America and Oceania. This acquisition will enable the company to operate its tire business worldwide under the Dunlop brand, with certain regional and product exceptions.
