Firestone has announced its latest winter van tire, the Vanhawk 2 Winter Evo. The EV-ready tire has been designed to deliver longer mileage, high levels of mobility across the winter season and improved fuel/energy efficiency.
The Firestone Vanhawk 2 Winter Evo applies Enliten technology – Bridgestone’s next-generation platform designed to deliver performance with a focus on enhancing sustainability characteristics. Replacing the Firestone Vanhawk 2 Winter, the new tire is engineered to deliver durability to light van owners and drivers, with 10% longer mileage than its predecessor. The tire features an improved compound for optimized abrasion, alongside a crown design for wear energy uniformity inside the contact patch area to deliver longer mileage.
Certified with 3PMSF and M+S markings, the Firestone Vanhawk 2 Winter Evo also ensures traction and braking in snow conditions. This combines with a 10% improvement in wet braking over its predecessor and a EU label A-grade in wet grip – improving the labelling grade versus the previous generation. The Firestone Vanhawk 2 Winter Evo’s compound is specified to maximize grip on wet roads, while a combination of blocks in the pattern design and sipe distribution grants advanced winter capabilities.
The new tire also delivers a 5% rolling resistance reduction compared to its predecessor for improved fuel/energy efficiency. The optimized compound ensures low dissipation during tire rolling, while the tread design is also engineered to optimize dissipation and minimize energy loss.
“The latest addition to the Firestone Vanhawk family ensures business continuity for van owners and fleets across the winter season,” said Stefano Sanchini, vice president consumer replacement at Bridgestone EMEA. “Built to perform, the new Firestone Vanhawk 2 Winter Evo with Enliten technology is here for those who need durability, uncompromised safety and cost efficiency from their winter tires above all else.”
Developed and tested in Italy, the tire will be available across all of Europe beginning in June 2025, and will be available from 15in to 17in in an expanded range of 18 short sizes and 22 long sizes, covering 93% of the demand coverage in that segment.
