One-stop agritourism is now just a swipe away with ON Farm Fun app, instantly connecting users with authentic on-farm experiences throughout the province.
Why it matters
The app highlights more than 800 Ontario agritourism operators, promoting local agriculture and rural tourism and bolstering the economic sustainability of farms.
“With the launch of ON Farm Fun, we’re creating a simple and engaging way for people to explore Ontario’s vibrant agritourism offerings,” said Kevin Vallier, CEO of Agritourism Ontario, in a release. “This app helps bridge the gap between urban and rural communities, making it easier for everyone to experience where their food comes from and to support local farms.”

Developed by Agritourism Ontario, the mobile app provides a user-friendly, all-in-one platform to connect with 79 products and 61 on-farm activities, including seasonal pick-your-own produce, farm tours, seasonal festivals and markets, workshops and family-friendly attractions.
Key features of the ON Farm Fun app include:
- An interactive map to help users find nearby farms and agritourism destinations
- Search and filter tools based on location, activities, and seasonal offerings.
- Real-time updates on farm hours, events, and availability
- Curated itineraries and suggested farm trails
- Direct links to farm websites and contact information

“There’s so much magic in our own backyards that we sometimes miss,” said Wes Worsfold, BitBakery CEO, whose company helped develop the mobile app, in a release. “We wanted to make sure the ON Farm Fun app did more than list farms. It is a virtual tour guide for discovering everything from family activities to weekend getaways.”
Worsfold said the app appeals to a wide range of users, from families interested in weekend outings to tourists wanting something unique, while providing farmers with a valuable promotional tool to reach new audiences and grow their business.

“We are very grateful for the support of Foodland Ontario and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness for their support of this project,” said Melinda McArthur, Agritourism Ontario board chair, in a release. “We believe this is an exciting project that will benefit both farm visitors and farm owners.”
The free ON Farm Fun app is now available for iOS and Android devices.
