We’re incredibly proud to share that our CFO, Gemma Fong, has been recognised as a 2025 Pioneer in Private Markets. A collaboration between THE LINE_, March Consultants, Corvus Group and Woodman Morgan, The Pioneer Award recognises the top 32 finance leaders across the private capital ecosystem who are redefining what the finance function can and should look like.
Alice Murray, The Line’s Editor says, “The Pioneers initiative was born from a belief that the old CFO playbook no longer fits today’s world. We’re entering a new era, one that demands agility, bold thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and a willingness to embrace new technologies. These Pioneers are leading the way with clarity, courage, and conviction.”
Gemma has played a pivotal role in developing our data-led approach to supporting both the fund and its portfolio. A standout example is her design and implementation of a bespoke emissions tracking system, which monitors Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by individual and activity through expense data. This aligns with our climate mission and empowers team-wide accountability towards our net-zero targets. It shows how thoughtful, practical innovation within the finance function can drive measurable impact without added cost or complexity.

Gemma says, “I’m excited by the role technology can play in generating more meaningful insights for climate-focused funds backing early-stage innovation, so I’m incredibly grateful to be recognised for this work. I’m especially thankful to my team, for their openness to trying new approaches, their honest feedback, and for helping shape tools that work for everyone. I’m very lucky to be part of a peer group of CFOs across climate venture capital who are so generous in sharing ideas and challenges. It’s a real privilege to be learning and growing together.”
