Did You Know?
The majority of the gardens’ landscapes consists of native plant species including creeping phlox, aromatic aster, and red twig dogwood that attract various types of pollinators. Pollinators range from bees and butterflies to bats and moths.
These pollinator gardens exemplify how sustainable initiatives can help improve our environment’s health and reduce resources used for maintenance.

About Bee the Buzz
Bee the Buzz (a student project from the Fall 2024 GEOL 1333: Sustainability course) is raising awareness about pollinator gardens on the University of Pittsburgh campus. With support from the Office of Sustainability, other university departments, and others, the group is providing students with helpful information about Pitt’s pollinator gardens and how to visit them.
