Date:

Researchers engineered PVDF-based magnetoelectric laminates with Vitrovac or Terfenol-D to study how interface quality, layer geometry, and strain transfer affect voltage-driven magnetic actuation. Optimized PVDF/Vitrovac laminates generated magnetic fields up to about 142 Oe at resonance and used nearly 75% less power than a conventional coil when producing the same field strength.
