This collaboration aims to accelerate process development, lower production costs, and improve operational performance in industrial biotechnology. Both companies are now ready to start onboarding customers.
Unlike traditional batch or fed-batch fermentation, which involves stopping operations to clean tanks, this new solution offers a streamlined, continuous process. Pow.Bio’s proprietary technology combines with Bühler’s 165 years of engineering expertise and advanced control software. The result is a platform that enables faster capacity building, predictable performance, and scalable production.
The platform targets companies producing fermentation-derived products that face high costs or scalability issues. It supports a broad range of products, including enzymes, organic acids, functional proteins, specialty lipids, and bioactive compounds. By replacing traditional processes with a continuous, model-driven system, customers can achieve higher productivity, better process consistency, and lower manufacturing costs. The system offers a low-risk pathway from lab research to full industrial scale.
