Massey Ferguson aims to give customers the best of both worlds with a compact but comfortable and high-horsepower tractor with their new 7S Mark 2.
The 7S Mark 2 will sit between the 7S and 8S, as a complement to the current S series.
For North American markets, horsepower offerings will begin at 200 hp and top at 245 hp in the 7S Mark 2. Certain horsepower segments of the 7S and 8S will be eliminated in North America to reduce overlap, such as the 190-hp and 210-hp in the 7S and 205-hp and 225-hp in the 8S.
“What we find is that farmers are looking for more power,” said Derek Reusser, senior marketing manager of tractors for Massey Ferguson North America, during a presentation in France.

“They’re looking for a more balanced frame, for more comfort. They’re looking for more field-proven technology that ultimately drives that return on investment.”
Naming of the new tractor ties to the history of Massey Ferguson, going back to the late 1950s. In 1958, Massey launched the 65, followed by the 65 Mark 2, and the 100 series followed the same styling in the 1960s, with a 165 Mark 2 introduced in 1967 that had engine improvements.
Technical improvements
The 7S Mark 2 follows in these footsteps, with a main new feature being the Agco Core 75 engine, which is already used in sister brand Fendt’s 700 series. For the 7S Mark 2, there are new features and improvements, including an increased service interval of 600 hours and a bigger oil pan fully integrated into the chassis.
The 7.5L engine also features the Stage V emissions system without EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) and six cylinders with single turbo. The transmission uses the Agco Dyna-VT system, which allows for consumption of the load while delivering more torque. At the highest horsepower of 245HP the maximum torque is 873 lb-ft at 1500 rpm.
“Our 7S Mark 2 empowers farmers to experience upwards of seven per cent less fuel usage with using upwards of 25 per cent less parts in just the engine alone,” added Reusser.

It also features a new 750 suspended front axle design, and accumulators of the Massey 9S have been added to enhance suspension efficiency. Two cylinders are at the back of the front axle, near the middle of the chassis to improve performance and absorption of vibrations for a smoother ride.
Another part that contributes to the comfortable ride is the size and features of the cab: 6.6 square metres (71 sq. ft.) of glass surface, 3.4 cubic metres for cab volume (120 cu. ft.), and category 4 cabin filtration.
“This is exactly the same structure and the same cab of the big brothers, MF 8S Extra and 9S,” said Antoine Blaineau, sales support specialist for high-horsepower tractors, Massey Ferguson for Europe and the Middle East.
“Which is, let’s say, a benchmark, an outstanding and spacious cap specifically on that (horsepower) segment, 150, 215, where it will be the most spacious cab for standard tractors.”
The large glass surface enables increased visibility for the operator, including being able to see all the way down to where the front tires meet the ground. Additional visibility comes from four digital cameras: on the front, at the back on the roof, and two provisionals.
Inside the cab, the seat is quite advanced with a nearly 360 rotation, electrical adjustment, memory settings, heat, and massage. Then there’s the advanced sound system with two large speakers and attachments in the steering column that have been outfitted for an engineering feat out of the Beauvais factory: the windshield acting as a subwoofer within the cab.

For the North American market
Massey expects to see the new machine on North American livestock operations, including dairies and feedlots, as well as commercial hay operations and small row crop farms.
Dan Nelson, tactical marketing manager of high horsepower tractors for Massey Ferguson production ag tractors, described the 7S Mark 2 as a “nimble” tractor that will offer diverse on-farm applications.
The main changes to the model were made with the U.S. and Canadian markets in mind, like the higher horsepower and comfort cab, while maintaining speed and the smaller size, Nelson added.
For producers who’ve been ogling European-sized tractors and higher horsepower capabilities, the 7S Mark 2 will be appreciated.
With the new ballast option, strong wheelbase, and ability to haul 30,000 pounds, it will fit for everything from cutting — triple mower or pull-behind — and baling, to feeding and hauling, and seeding with smaller-sized drills.
“It’s very versatile the way that it’s set up,” said Nelson. “To make sure that, hopefully, they only need one tractor to perform multiple tasks on their operation.”
While no loaders were displayed on the models in France, they will be when the tractors make their way to North America. It also features increases to hydraulic outlets, of which there are five.
“We will have live third on our loaders, so to use that grapple very accessibly, we can definitely have that on there,” Nelson explained. “We will have the ability to have two front remotes and have a live third on a loader, so something that we weren’t able to do before.”

Additionally, there are four PTO speeds on the transmission, allowing operators to run in economy mode, 540 or 1,000 PTO.
Customers of the 7S Mark 2 have access to MF by You, Massey’s factory customization centre, where they can customize the entire tractor during factory assembly: colour and material of seats, custom floor mats, cup holders, paint colour, rim colour, tire type, custom stickers, and the list goes on.
The offering comes with the realization that many customers are having customization done after the fact.
“Now, we can provide them a turnkey solution that’s all factory-fit and finish. It really helps the customer experience that much more,” said Nelson.
Available in 2027
Massey Ferguson will be officially launching the 7S Mark 2 at the Commodity Classic in March 2027 for the North American market. Orders will be open as of the launch, with dealers beginning to order in the first quarter of 2027 and customers a few weeks later. The expectation is to see the new model hit fields in spring 2028.
Customers can expect to see an “appropriate horsepower walk” across the segments, with each being the average step up in price across models. Massey has an average price increase of two to three per cent between segments, and expects the gap to be similar to the current 7S 200 and 210.
