PowerFlex, a provider of intelligent energy management, EV charging, solar and storage systems, has acquired The Mobility House North America to bring together the company’s fleet charging and energy management capabilities.
The combined business will offer customers a broader suite of software, energy, and infrastructure solutions while advancing the companies’ plans to enable cleaner, more flexible electricity grids through intelligent charging and bidirectional energy technologies.
PowerFlex delivers charging solutions for large-scale commercial fleets, including last-mile delivery, municipal and utility fleets, while The Mobility House brings expertise in electrifying transit agencies and school bus fleets, as well as capabilities in bidirectional charging and vehicle-to-grid integration. The Mobility House launched a new vehicle-to-grid integration platform for utilities earlier this year.
The companies aim to expand the solutions available to customers across a wider range of fleet applications, integrate their software platforms over time to create a unified customer experience, and enhance product capabilities with expanded AI-driven features.
The Mobility House’s experience in bidirectional charging will help accelerate the development and deployment of vehicle-to-grid and vehicle-to-building capabilities, the companies said. Their customers will also gain access to PowerFlex’s project development and engineering capabilities, public charging features and integrated energy management platform.
PowerFlex’s experience in commercial solar and energy storage will offer new opportunities for heavy-duty fleet operators seeking to optimize energy costs and sustainability outcomes. The PowerFlex X energy management platform monitors, controls and co-optimizes onsite assets like EV chargers, solar, energy storage and microgrids, reducing overall energy costs through algorithms that maximize distributed energy resources.
As part of the share exchange transaction, The Mobility House will become a minority shareholder in the combined business.
