High-Paying Jobs Growing the Fastest in America
Which six-figure careers have the strongest outlook for the decade ahead? From nurse practitioners to data scientists, some high-paying jobs are projected to grow much faster than the broader labor market.
This graphic, created in partnership with Terzo, ranks high-paying U.S. jobs by projected employment growth from 2025 to 2035. It’s part of our Markets in a Minute series, which delivers quick economic insights.
Ranking High-Paying Jobs by Growth Rate
The table below shows the projected rate of employment growth for high-paying jobs with median annual wages above $100,000 in 2025.
Over the next decade, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects that nurse practitioners will see the fastest growth rate. In fact, nurse practitioner jobs are set to grow at a rate more than ten times as fast as the growth for all occupations in total. The aging population, rise of chronic disease, and increase in team-based health care are all driving demand.Â
Many states are changing their laws to allow nurse practitioners to perform more services as the U.S. faces a physician shortage.
| Rank | Job | 2025–2035P Employment Growth | 2025 Median Annual Wage |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Nurse Practitioners | 41.0% | $132K |
| 2 | Data Scientists | 34.6% | $120K |
| 3 | Health Services Managers | 24.2% | $124K |
| 4 | Computer Research Scientists | 21.8% | $140K |
| 5 | Physician Assistants | 21.1% | $136K |
| 6 | Information Security Analysts | 21.0% | $129K |
| 7 | Postsecondary Health Teachers | 17.9% | $107K |
| 8 | Information Systems Managers | 15.8% | $175K |
| 9 | Occupational Therapists | 14.8% | $100K |
| – | Total, All Occupations | 3.5% | $51K |

Data scientists have the second-highest projected growth rate among high-paying jobs. The BLS expects growth to come from increased demand for data-driven decisions, especially as the volume of data and its potential uses grow over time. Companies will also need data scientists to help them leverage AI for a variety of tasks, from improving processes to making better decisions.
Health Care and Tech Dominate
All of the fast-growing jobs with six-figure salaries are in health care or technology. For students or those looking to make a career change, this is an important indication of where some of the most lucrative opportunities may be.
In particular, the highest-paying job on the list is information systems manager. These managers help a company set out IT goals, implement computer systems, and oversee IT staff. It’s also critical they stay up to date on new technology in order to make informed recommendations.Â
The right technology can help your company find hidden savings. Across contracts, invoices, and renewals, learn how Terzo helps your teams find the money.
