“What keeps me passionate today is the ability to work alongside my family and continue building something that can be passed down to the next generation.”
Campbell Farms — Westminster, Carroll County
What inspired you to pursue a career in agriculture, and what keeps you passionate about it today?
I grew up on our family farm and always enjoyed being outside and working with animals. Agriculture has always been part of my life and something I truly enjoy. What keeps me passionate today is the ability to work alongside my family and continue building something that can be passed down to the next generation.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a woman in farming, and how did you overcome it?
Balancing farm work with family responsibilities has been my biggest challenge. There are always animals that need cared for and work that needs done. I’ve learned to prioritize, stay organized and lean on my support system when needed.
Are you a first-generation farmer, or are you carrying on a family legacy?
I am carrying on a family legacy.
What is one piece of advice you would give to the next generation of young women entering the agricultural field?
Don’t be afraid to take on new challenges and ask questions. There is always something to learn.
What is the most rewarding part of your day-to-day life on the farm?
Seeing the results of hard work and being able to raise my children in the same environment I grew up in.
