Researchers converted pine resin-derived rosin into a thermoplastic, mesophase-forming pitch that can be graphitized into high-quality bulk graphite. The study shows how molecular restructuring of renewable terpenes could reduce reliance on fossil-derived pitch for graphite manufacturing.
