The vast majority (70%) of occupations on the list are in healthcare, spanning roles from highly paid nurse practitioners and physician assistants to home health and personal care aides.

Solar photovoltaic installers and wind turbine technicians rank second and fourth, respectively, with projected growth rates of 37% and 30%.
Both occupations are expanding as solar and wind capacity continues to grow across the country.
Because solar installers and wind turbine technicians start from smaller employment bases than many major occupations, rapid percentage growth does not necessarily translate into the largest number of new jobs.
Still, their positions near the top of the ranking highlight how the changing energy mix is creating new demand for skilled technical workers.
Wind, solar, and biofuels have expanded by more than 1,700% since 2000 and now account for 63% of U.S. renewable energy production.
Data and Cybersecurity Skills Remain in Demand
Technology also has a strong presence, with data scientists projected to grow by 35% through 2035.
Computer and information research scientists and information security analysts are expected to grow by 22% and 21%, respectively.
Technology also combines strong projected growth with some of the highest salaries on the list. Computer research scientists have the ranking’s highest median salary at $140,300, followed by information security analysts at $129,180 and data scientists at $120,230.
Rising demand for data analysis, advanced computing, and cybersecurity is helping sustain strong growth across these specialized occupations.
