Despite fluctuations in EV demand and market conditions, General Motors continues investing heavily in battery technology, vehicle platforms, charging networks, and manufacturing capacity. The company views electrification as a central pillar of its future product strategy.
The auto industry can morph, at whatever speed it chooses, to electric transportation. And yes, a prudent CEO needs to keep customer demand front of mind throughout this process.
Big Oil, on the other hand, is in a fight for its life, and needs to actively suppress the fact that fossil fuels are having a horrific effect on the climate, human health, and any hope for world peace.
