A novel method converts spent LiNi1−x−yCoxMnyO2 cathodes into nickel cobalt sulfide catalysts via deep eutectic solvents and sulfidation. The hollow nanorod arrays with rich active sites and hydrophilicity exhibit superior OER performance.
