A ZnCl2 MSH/GVL system fractionates wheat straw (140 °C, 40 min), converting hemicellulose to furfural (67.3% yield) with 98.5% cellulose preservation. Acid-hydrolysis of residue delivers 93.8% glucose in 20 min, eliminating enzymatic steps.
