Tanmiah Food Company, one of Saudi Arabia’s leading poultry and food producers, has signed two strategic Memorandums of Understanding with sustainability-focused companies PHYLA and RECYCLEE, both part of the SEQUENCIVE portfolio.
The agreements were announced during IFAT Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom’s dedicated exhibition for waste management and environmental technologies. They represent a significant step in Tanmiah’s “waste-to-value” roadmap, focusing on digitizing waste management and developing alternative proteins to support national food security goals.
Through its partnership with biotechnology company PHYLA, Tanmiah will lead research and development into alternative proteins using Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae. The initiative explores converting organic waste locally into sustainable animal feed. This approach aims to reduce exposure to global supply chain disruptions, particularly important as Saudi Arabia imports significant grain volumes for its food system.
The BSF research complements Tanmiah’s existing Moringa program. Together, these efforts position the company as a key player in alternative protein development, supporting the Saudi Green Initiative and the national target of achieving 90% poultry self-sufficiency by 2030.
The agreement with RECYCLEE focuses on digital transformation of Tanmiah’s waste management systems. An advanced tracking platform will enable the company to monitor, manage, and monetize industrial byproducts. This digitization is designed to create new revenue streams while ensuring transparency and compliance with environmental standards, supporting Saudi Arabia’s goal to divert 90% of waste from landfills by 2040.
Zulfiqar Hamadani, CEO of Tanmiah Food Company, emphasized the company’s commitment extends beyond reducing impact. “We are leveraging technology and biological innovation to improve resource efficiency, strengthen food security, and support national priorities with practical, scalable solutions,” he said.
Mohammed AlMadhi, CEO of SEQUENCIVE, highlighted the partnership’s alignment with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. He noted the collaboration will scale up food security, circular economy initiatives, and environmental impact through operational expertise and digital innovation.
