Hampton Lumber is proud to announce it will sponsor a Girls Build summer camp in Morton, Washington, scheduled for June 22–26, 2026, expanding the company’s commitment to hands-on learning and career exploration in the communities where it operates.

Girls Build is a Portland-based nonprofit that empowers girls through hands‑on construction, tool use, and trades‑based learning led by skilled female instructors. Girls Build camps give young participants the opportunity to learn construction fundamentals, inspiring confidence, curiosity, and interest in potential careers in the skilled trades. Open to girls ages 8–15, the Morton camp will include a warm breakfast and lunch each day, plus a small snack to take home.

Hampton Lumber has supported Girls Build camps in Oregon for the past several years, hosting programs in communities near its Willamina, Tillamook, and Warrenton sawmills.

“Bringing Girls Build to Morton is something we’ve hoped to make happen for several years,” said Kristin Rasmussen, Director of Public Affairs & Communications at Hampton Lumber. “The camps fill up quickly in our Oregon communities, showing strong demand for hands-on, confidence-building programs like these. We’re thrilled to offer the same opportunity to girls and families in the Cowlitz Valley.”

Hampton’s support for Girls Build aligns with the company’s broader commitment to youth education, workforce development, and expanding access to the trades. Hampton scholarships are available to ensure cost is never a barrier for participating families.

Families can learn more, apply for scholarships, and register at www.girlsbuild.org/camps. Space is limited to 40 participants, and early registration is encouraged.
