Eurowag, a leading provider of digital mobility solutions for Europe’s commercial transport sector, has introduced a new service called Biofuel Swap. Developed in partnership with FincoEnergies, this innovative offering aims to help transport companies reduce their carbon footprint without disrupting operations.

Biofuel Swap is a flexible decarbonisation solution based on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO). It enables companies to continue fueling with conventional diesel while Eurowag supplies an equivalent volume of HVO into the European fuel network through its trusted partner, FincoEnergies. This arrangement allows companies to achieve immediate, measurable CO₂ reductions, even where physical HVO is not available.

The service provides customers with an audited sustainability certificate that details the fuel input, emissions saved, and relevant certification period. This makes it easier for transport firms to meet ESG reporting requirements. Customers can access Biofuel Swap easily through Eurowag’s website.

Matthias Maedge, Vice President of CRT Decarbonisation at Eurowag, emphasized the importance of scalable solutions, saying, “Our Biofuel Swap, combined with our expanding HVO network, offers fully certified, restriction-free CO₂ reductions for European fleets.” Oliver Steen, Director Renewables Germany at FincoEnergies, added that the partnership makes sustainable biofuels more transparent and accessible for daily operations.

Among early adopters is Elmex Group, a Polish transport company with a modern Euro 6 fleet. Krzysztof Potok, President of Elmex Group, highlighted the service’s flexibility, noting that it complements their existing low-carbon energy mix.

Eurowag’s network includes over 17,000 fueling stations, with more than 700 offering HVO, supporting the company’s goal to foster a greener future for European trucking.
