ESG-focused software analytics platform provider Datamaran announced today the launch of Applicability Assessment, a new tool designed to help companies determine which regulatory requirements apply to their operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
The new feature forms part of Datamaran’s Regulatory Monitoring Platform, launched in March 2026, to help companies to monitor and manage ESG and sustainability-related regulations as requirements evolve.
According to Datamaran, the launch comes as organizations operating across multiple countries often rely on manual assessments of hundreds of regulations to determine their compliance obligations, repeating the process as requirements change.
The company said that the new feature enables businesses to assess multiple entities simultaneously against existing and proposed mandatory regulations, with each assessment classified as Likely, Unlikely or Uncertain to apply, alongside an explanation of the criteria used to reach the determination.
According to the company, the feature’s additional capabilities include automatically populated entity profiles containing information such as headquarters, countries of operation, sector, revenue and employee headcount, and the ability to group entities by region, business unit or supplier tier. The new feature also includes dashboards to monitor regulatory exposure, identify information gaps and track changes, with an expert review feature planned to support the validation of assessment results.
Marjella Lecourt-Alma, CEO and co-founder of Datamaran, said:
“‘We just need to know what applies to us’ is something we hear often from legal, compliance, and sustainability teams. Applicability Assessment provides that information quickly and reliably at the entity level at scale.”
