Date:

Researchers used thermal treatment or laser processing to tune polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fiber mats into separate thermoresistive temperature and piezoresistive pressure-sensing elements for flexible monitoring in high-temperature environments. The platform measured temperatures from 25 to 300 °C and pressures from 0 to 480 kPa, while combined loading above roughly 180 °C and 150 kPa exposed a structural limit.
