Pure BC separator lack channels, causing loose Zn2+ deposition and dendrites. In situ UiO-66 growth on BC forms hierarchical pores for uniform Zn2+ diffusion/deposition, suppressing dendrites, improving cycling and reducing energy use and emissions.
