Solarcentury Africa has launched its 19.3 MWp Gerus solar PV plant in Namibia, the nation’s first merchant solar facility to directly sell electricity to the Southern African Power Pool. Developed with Sino Energy, the project will generate 50.8 GWh annually, create local jobs, and supports Namibia’s renewable energy goals.
