Holiferm and Organica UK have announced a strategic combination, backed by continued partnership with Sadorp. The deal joins Holiferm’s biosurfactant technology with Organica’s formulation and manufacturing capabilities.
Holiferm develops nature-derived biosurfactants through proprietary fermentation technology. Its research, development and manufacturing operations are based in North West England. Organica formulates and manufactures biodegradable, non-hazardous cleaning products for UK and international brands.
Together, the combined business spans ingredient development, product formulation, manufacturing and commercialisation. The companies say this creates an end-to-end platform offering customers access to both science-led innovation and finished products.
The two businesses have worked closely since 2023. They will continue operating from adjacent sites, giving them room to expand production and pursue joint innovation.
Sadorp remains a key commercial partner. The company brings retailer relationships and commercialisation expertise that support the route from product development to store shelves.
Charles Dimmler, CEO of Holiferm, called the combination a milestone in building what he described as an iconic 21st century biochemical company. He said the deal accelerates Holiferm’s path to profitability and strengthens its applications development capability, linking science and engineering through to finished products.
Chris Arthur, owner of Organica UK, said joining forces with Holiferm combines the company’s formulation heritage with biomanufacturing technology. He added that the partnership gives customers more sustainable cleaning solutions while preserving established service relationships.
The combination reflects a broader trend in biosurfactants, where fermentation-derived ingredients are increasingly competing with fossil-based chemistry on cost and performance.
